Update 1 on Fajr Int'l Filmfest-First Day

Here are some updates on the heels of 36th Fajr International Film Festival's inauguration.

1. Iran cinema has celebrated its 120th spring and in a symbolic gesture Iranian actor Reza Kianian cuts the cake prepared for the occasion.

2. There is also a photo exhibition held on the sidelines of the festival presenting 120 years of Iranian cinema through 120 photos.

3. The Multi-Content Film Market of the festival has announced 50 international sales agents, film producers and distributers from across the globe to attend the event.

4. Broken Olive Branches section of the festival which is a window to the world of Islam today has kicked off with screening of 3 movies.

The titles which have hit the silver screen of the festival are 'Ghost Hunting' by Raed Andoni, Stefanie Brockhaus and Andreas Wolf's 'The Poetess' and 'The Rain of Homs' by Joud Said.

5. Iranian actor Reza Kianian has been selected to conduct acting workshops on the sidelines of the festival.

36th Fajr International Film Festival, which officially kicked off Wednesday April 18 with special screening of Majid Majidi's 'Beyond the Clouds', is underway in Iranian capital of Tehran.  

Directed by well-known Iranian helmer Reza Mirkarimi, 2018 edition of the festival ends on April 27.
